Flashing Installation

Flashing

Water diverter flashing (also known as Kickout flashing) is necessary wherever a roofline terminates 'mid-wall' on a perpendicular wall. It is the final component of the step flashing along the roof rake.

When this flashing is missing, water travels along the step flashing (installed beneath the shingles and behind the stucco) and continues unimpeded behind the stucco and into the wall.

The sealant bead (or fillet) binds one material to another bridging the gap between them. During times of expansion and contraction between dissimilar materials, moving at different rates, the sealant should be flexible enough to accommodate the movement and still seal the gap.

Peachtree Stucco proudly uses Raintek univerals kickout flashing. We also will custom make units onsite for 'non-universal' applications. We also install deck and window flashing!

Water will always follow the path of least resistance downward and 'fan out' below the entry point.

Damage Mitigation

Typically the staining on the stucco, found below the kickouts, corresponds to about 25% of what is happening. As you can see it is the other 75% you need to worry about. Not only does the water create damage on its own but once it finds its way to the grade level it will begin to attract termites.

Restoration

Each repair is carefully performed within manufacturers' current specifications. We want to make sure that not only we have eliminated the problem source but also provide you with the peace of mind your project was completed correctly.

Results

We believe that there is more to repair and remediation than just installing products. This is your home, investment and property and we will treat is as if it were our own.
